Embroidered on the front are designs including the outline of the Aboriginal Flag, a decolonised map of “Australia,” and Bunjil, the wedge-tailed eagle — the spiritual creator and protector of the Kulin Nation in Victoria.
The word ‘NARRM’ is also embroidered on this tee, recognising the area where Clothing The Gaps is located. We acknowledge and respect the different meanings the word Narrm holds for both Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung peoples of the Central Kulin Nation.

But, purchasing from Aboriginal brands, businesses and wearing Indigenous designs alone is surface-level allyship. There needs to be more commitment than just buying from Aboriginal brands and businesses.
Wearing Aboriginal design is not dismantling a system that oppresses Indigenous people. Allies need to do more and learn more. Wearing our tees is a great starting point. We have equipped you with our merch and some of the educational content to go with them. We want you to go out in the world, have these important conversations and find ways to do more and support more.

A great quality shirt that starts interesting conversations
Love the great quality of the fabric and the embroidery. This shirt starts interesting conversations because it's not so obvious. "Hey, what's all this about?" they say. So I explain it, and why I wear it and why I'm an ally, and I throw in a couple of important bits of information about what "closing the gap" means, and why I think we should learn our true history in school and why they should go ask someone who is Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander for more information because it's not okay for white people to pretend to speak on their behalf. Also, it's a really great shirt, super comfy and washes well.

Absolutely beautiful quality tshirt
Absolutely beautiful quality tshirt, well made in a lovely thick cotton that will last for ages. Colour brown is a little darker and cooler than what is in the pic. So many people have said they love my top and asked where I bought it and what it represents.
So they say we stole this land, Briggs says the children came back, I would like to think we only borrowed it and will give it back to the DreamTime Asp but I wish we left it better than we found it.
