Uniting people through fashion and cause

About Us

Clothing The Gaps is a fresh and dynamic fashion label managed by health professionals that celebrates Aboriginal people and culture.

Clothing The Gaps is a play on the words "Closing the Gap", which is an Australian Government health initiative to help close the life expectancy gap between Aboriginal people and non-Indigenous Australians.

We make our clothes with our mob in our heart and everyone in mind. We label our clothes Ally Friendly and Mob Only because everyone was asking “Can I wear that?”.

We produce merch with a meaning and encourage people to wear their values on their tee. We unite non-Indigenous and Aboriginal people through fashion and causes, one of which is to help Close the Gap

Clothing The Gaps is a Victorian Aboriginal led and controlled, and majority Aboriginal owned  social enterpriseco-founded by Laura Thompson (Gunditjmara) and Sarah Sheridan (non-Indigenous).

As a social enterprise we are profit for purpose. We use business as a vehicle to self-determine our future through profit, efforts and resources supporting and helping to fund the impactful work of the Clothing The Gaps Foundation.

Clothing The Gaps is proud to be certified as a Victorian Aboriginal business with Kinaway Chamber of Commerce Victoria and certified as an Aboriginal business with Supply Nation.

We also hold an Ethical Clothing Australia accreditation. We are registered with Social Traders and we are currently undergoing a certification process with  B Corporation Australia.
