This product is Ally Friendly.
Ally friendly merch is for everyone.
When we see non-Indigenous people wearing our designs, we feel proud that they are repping our merch and culture.
When we see Aboriginal designs in the world, it means Indigenous people are not invisible in the landscape.
But, purchasing from Aboriginal brands, businesses and wearing Indigenous designs alone is surface-level allyship. There needs to be more commitment than just buying from Aboriginal brands and businesses.
Wearing Aboriginal design is not dismantling a system that oppresses Indigenous people. Allies need to do more and learn more. Wearing our tees is a great starting point. We have equipped you with our merch and some of the educational content to go with them. We want you to go out in the world, have these important conversations and find ways to do more and support more.
The full phrase "Always Was, Always Will Be Aboriginal Land" can be traced back to the Aboriginal land rights movement in far-western New South Wales.
The late Barkandji man Uncle William Bates is credited with leading the rallies that birthed the cry, which is now ubiquitous at Aboriginal civil rights rallies.
The phrase came from a conversation in which Uncle William said to his father, "it's not your land anymore, whitefellas own it".
Uncle Jim Bates replied: "No, they only borrowed it; it always was, and always will be Aboriginal land."

The Always range of clothes says it all—provocative but truthful, so deniers can't hide. I love them and get a lot of support for wearing them. Not many challengers take me on.
Love it, deadly and really warm

amazing quality
Love this jumper the quality absolutely blew me away.I'm a 10 and small is perfectly oversized fit. Arrived promptly and I’ve worn it not stop since. Thank you clothing the gaps.
So they say we stole this land, Briggs says the children came back, I would like to think we only borrowed it and will give it back to the DreamTime Asp but I wish we left it better than we found it.
Have purchased a few things from Clothing The Gaps online, great communication, always well packaged and speedy shipping :)
In-store staff are super friendly and helpful. They even gave me spare stickers for my kids! As an ally, love all the merch - high quality, comfy, stylish, ethically made and great for convo-starters and raising First Nations' awareness in the community. Very satisfying to be able to support an ethical and socially responsible organisation too. Will be buying again for sure. Go CTG!
